WASHINGTON – A Maryland man has been once again convicted of killing his 3-month-old son in 2001 in order to collect life insurance.
The Washington Post reports (http://wapo.st/25l1Dcc) 38-year-old Moussa Sissoko of Silver Spring was sentenced Thursday to life in prison with all but 50 years suspended.
Court records show prosecutors said Sissoko killed his son and then sought to become the sole beneficiary of a $750,000 life insurance policy on the child.
Sissoko was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2002, but he was granted a new trial in March after a judge said his lawyer should have called different medical specialists in the first trial.
