PORT ANGELES, Wash. – A Washington state man was found dead at a campground in Olympic National Park after being shot in the head with an arrow, and authorities are trying to determine what happened.
The Peninsula Daily News reports (http://is.gd/iUhZ8v) the short arrow that hit and killed the 54-year-old Joyce man was fired by a crossbow.
Clallam County prosecutor and coroner Mark Nichols says there's no obvious evidence of a crime, but the death of Christopher E. Boysen remains under investigation.
Boysen left his apartment to go camping Jan. 22. His body was found Feb. 4 after his landlord reported him missing.
Boysen's sister, Kimberly Boysen of Mastic, New York, says her brother owned a cross bow and used it for target shooting.
She tells the Port Angeles newspaper that authorities are trying to determine if his death was a homicide, suicide or an accident.
