LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach police have arrested several people for the death of a baby who was snatched after a shooting that wounded three people. The 3-week-old girl was later found dead in a trash bin.
Police plan to offer more details at a Wednesday afternoon news conference.
Eliza Delacruz was taken on Jan. 3 from a home on 51st Street. A man shot and wounded the girl's parents and uncle during the kidnapping.
Eliza's body was found the next day in a dumpster in Imperial Beach in San Diego County.
Authorities haven't suggested a motive for the attack.
However, police say two hours before the attack, a woman in a Range Rover followed a bus carrying the baby and her mother, then talked to the mother when they got off.
