An Ohio couple whose 11-month-old son died from ingesting heroin have been charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering.

Franklin County prosecutor Ron O'Brien says medics pronounced Dominic Dickinson dead after responding to a report of a baby not breathing at a Columbus home on May 13. O'Brien says the baby ingested heroin and fentanyl, a powerful painkiller.

O'Brien said Tuesday the grand jury indicted 32-year-old Denise Dickinson and 29-year-old Kyle Black.

Court records don't show attorneys available to comment on the charges. The defendants could face up to 11 years in prison if convicted.

The indictment comes a week after a similar case in which a Columbus woman was charged in the death of her 14-month-old daughter May 27. O'Brien says that child also ingested heroin and fentanyl.
