A man who pleaded guilty to causing a car crash that killed a 1-year-old boy has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.

The Baltimore State's Attorney's Office says in a news release that 38-year-old Wayne Anthony Green Jr. was sentenced Monday in Baltimore Circuit Court. Green pleaded guilty to gross vehicular homicide and other offenses.

Prosecutors say Green was fleeing from officers on Nov. 1 when his car hit another vehicle, sending it into a bus stop, where 1-year-old Jeremiah Perry's mother was waiting with the boy in a stroller. The car struck the child, who died of his injuries.

According to prosecutors and online court records, Green pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in 2002 in Baltimore County. He was sentenced to three years in jail.
