A man who vanished while diving in a Tennessee cave has been brought to safety, authorities said Wednesday.

The individual has since been disclosed as Josh Bratchley from the United Kingdom, according to Fox 17 Nashville. He was reportedly determined to be in stable condition following his rescue. Bratchley – who initially disappeared from the Mill Pond Cave Tuesday afternoon – was on the crew of rescuers who retrieved a Thai youth soccer team who became trapped in a cave last summer, ABC News reported.

The update on Bratchley was provided on Facebook by the Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service.

“The diver was located and brought out of the cave by rescue divers!” the post said. “All are safe on the surface.”

The rescue came hours after an early-morning call from a group of experienced divers around 1:15 a.m. reporting that one of their members had not surfaced from their excursion in a cave, Jackson County Emergency Management Agency spokesman Derek Woolbright said, according to The Associated Press.

The group had been unsuccessful in their efforts to locate the missing person, Woolbright said.
