DENVER – The Denver Post is mourning the loss of a reporter who died after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a street.
The Post reports that Colleen O'Connor was struck Wednesday night in a crosswalk.
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash and who had the right of way. O'Connor was walking across the street.
O'Connor joined the Post in July 2004. She was a reporter for the Post's Now Team and previously worked as a food writer and city desk reporter.
Post editor Lee Ann Colacioppo told employees she couldn't imagine a more thoughtful and kind colleague and says the newspaper is a "poorer place without her."
