A four-month-old girl died in a house fire in Fort Worth, Tex., Saturday while her young mom was at her high school graduation practice, myFOXdfw.com reported.

The child's mother, named by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram as 17-year-old Dajai Moore, was set to graduate from Dunbar High, but instead was inconsolable about the loss of her daughter, Atyri Renea Skinner.

Five adults and another child were at the home in the 2800 block of Sarah Jane Lane in Fort Worth when the fire broke out about 11:00am local time. All escaped unharmed.

Family members said the baby's father woke up to find his bed on fire, myFOXdfw.com reported. In the confusion to escape the flames the family mistakenly believed the child was with her mother, only realizing she had been left behind when they were outside.

After being told a child was trapped inside, firefighters fought their way into the house, but baby was found dead in the room where the fire was believed to have started.

The cause of the fire was not yet known.
