Aragon, Spain – Real Zaragoza announced on Sunday that the club has hired Manolo Jimenez as its new coach until the end of the season.
Jimenez replaces Javier Aguirre, who was sacked earlier this week with Zaragoza sitting on the bottom of the La Liga table having lost eight of its last nine games.
The 47-year-old Jimenez spent three seasons in charge of Sevilla before moving on to lead AEK Athens to the Greek Cup last season.
Zaragoza's next match will take place January 7 against Racing.
