Wolverhampton Nenad Milijas' appeal for a red card against Arsenal on Tuesday was denied Thursday by the English FA.

Milijas was issued the red card for serious foul play in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal, and the FA upheld the referee Stuart Attwell's decision.

"We are hugely disappointed with today's ruling," said Wolves' club secretary Richard Skirrow. "In our view it was certainly not serious foul play.

"In fact, on further reflection, 'disappointed' doesn't seem to do justice to the feelings of everyone at the club on hearing this decision."

Milijas will now serve a three-game suspension, starting with Saturday's match at Bolton.
