Minnesota Wild forwards Jordan Schroeder and Thomas Vanek enjoy playing in "The State of Hockey", but the duo admitted to a special homecoming when thinking about competing in an outdoor game at TCF Bank Stadium.

"It's something I'm really looking forward to," Schroeder told the team's website in reference to facing the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 21 at his former collegiate home. "It's got a special place in my heart, obviously, being here at the University of Minnesota, where I went and played. I can't stop smiling right now."

While the 24-year-old Schroeder isn't too far removed from his days as a Golden Gopher, the veteran Vanek is relishing his return to his former stomping grounds.

"For me, it's extra special being back on campus, where I played for the (university), especially in a venue like this, TCF Bank Stadium, it's going to be fun," the 31-year-old Vanek said.
