Valencia signs defenders Ruiz, Barragan

Valencia, Spain – Valencia acquired defenders Victor Ruiz and term contracts.

Ruiz, 22, joins on a transfer fee reported to be $10.8 million from Napoli, and signed a five-year contract. The Spanish Under-21 international formerly played in Spain with Espanyol, which he just left in January for Italy.

Barragan, 24, joins from Real Valladolid on a deal reported to be about $2.2 million. The former Spanish youth international previously spent time with Liverpool and Deportivo, and signed a four-year contract with Valencia.
