USC had a very Merry Christmas as the Trojans gained the highest profile commitment since Clay Helton was officially named head coach with the pledge of five-star defensive end prospect Oluwole Betiku. Rated as California's top prospect for 2016, Betiku chose SC over finalists UCLA, Notre Dame, Florida State and Texas A&M.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Betiku was once a UCLA commit but he backed off that commitment shortly after officially visiting Florida State and Texas A&M and scheduling a Notre Dame trip. Betiku is expected to enroll early in order to participate in spring practice with the Trojans.
According to 247Sports, Betiku ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at the 2015 The Opening - faster then any lineman in attendance.
