New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was named the National League Player of the Week for the period ending May 4.
In six games last week, Tulowitzki led MLB with a .619 batting average, 13 hits, nine runs scored and a 1.048 slugging percentage. He posted five multi- hit games during the week.
Others considered for the award included Arizona's Paul Goldschmidt, Yasiel Puig and Dee Gordon of the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego's Rene Rivera, Chicago Cubs' Anthony Rizzo and Milwaukee pitchers Wily Peralta and Francisco Rodriguez.
