Daniella Rodriguez, whose reign as Miss Texas USA 2016 will end on Sunday at the Miss Texas USA pageant in Houston, was asked to throw out the first pitch when the Houston Astros took on the Oakland A’s Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park.

Unlike Rodriguez, the result wasn’t pretty.

The pitch was about 30 feet short and 10 feet to the left of home plate.

In Rodriguez’s defense, most men who attempt to toss out a first pitch don’t do it in three-inch high wedges.

And the 20-year-old native of Laredo, who studies education at Texas A&M, is in very good company.

More On This...

From famous athletes like NBA superstar Michael Jordan and even Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan to rapper 50 Cent and President Barack Obama, the number of people who have botched first pitches at baseball games is large and growing.

In fact, Rodriguez is only following tradition in some way. The consensus all-time worst first pitch ever is that of Miss Texas 2014, Monique Evans, who tried to incorporate some of her ballet-dancing talent into the throw.

Didn’t work.
