Lisbon, Portugal – Benfica completed the signing of Serbian attacker Miralem Sulejmani on a free transfer from Ajax on Wednesday.
Sulejmani arrived at Ajax in 2008 from Heerenveen for around $21 million, but he failed to justify his price tag while in Amsterdam and made just eight appearances for the club last season.
The 24-year-old's contract expired with the Dutch side at the end of the last campaign, and he moves to Portugal on a five-year contract.
In addition to Sulejmani, Benfica has already added Serbian players Lazar Markovic and Filip Djuricic this month.
