Stricker to be US captain at Presidents Cup
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Steve Stricker is the next American captain for the Presidents Cup, for the 2017 matches at Liberty National.
Stricker played on five Presidents Cup team and had a 14-10 record while playing on nothing but victorious teams. He will go up against Nick Price, who will be International captain for the third straight time.
The International team has not won since 1998, though it was one putt away from a victory last October in South Korea. Price successfully lobbied after the 2013 matches to extend the number of matches with hopes of making it a closer competition.
The 2017 matches will be during the last week in September on a course with views of the Manhattan skyline. Liberty National also has hosted The Barclays twice.
