Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Vernon Fiddler scored twice as the Dallas Stars dominated the Minnesota Wild, 7-1, on Saturday.

Erik Cole and Tyler Seguin each had a goal and an assist, while Kari Lehtonen posted 21 stops for the Stars, who have won four straight and eight of their last nine.

"I still don't think we're a group that is looking at a lot of the numbers," said Stars center Jason Spezza. "We're just focusing day to day on who the next opponent is."

Thomas Vanek scored the only goal of the game for the Wild, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

"This one stings," said Wild center Ryan Carter. "Feels like we're at the bottom, but the good thing is the only place to go from there is up."

Darcy Kuemper was pulled from the start after allowing four goals on 21 shots, with Niklas Backstrom allowing three goals on 14 shots in relief.

Skating on the power play, the Stars scored at 5:34 of the first when Fiddler's quick shot on the fly from the slot beat Kuemper high.

The score stayed that way until 5:03 into the second period when Colton Sceviour scored off a big blast from the right circle, and the Stars made it a 3-0 game less than three minutes later off a one-timer from Fiddler in front.

Seguin scored his 26th goal of the season at 8:56 of the second when he snapped home a pass from the low left side, and Cole scored shorthanded at 11:15 when Backstrom tried to play the puck and Jamie Benn picked it up, centering it to Cole for the open net.

Minnesota scored with 4:44 to play in the second when Vanek beat Lehtonen for a power-play goal, but Antoine Roussel scored 2 1/2 minutes later for a 6-1 edge heading to the third.

Brett Ritchie scored with 1:28 to play to account for the final score.
