New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - South Carolina and Connecticut remained the top two teams in the latest Associated Press women's college basketball poll.

The Gamecocks sit atop the rankings for the 12th straight week since supplanting UConn as the No. 1 team in late November. South Carolina received 26 first-place votes and a total of 842 points from a nationwide media panel.

Connecticut again picked up the remaining eight No. 1 votes and 824 points.

Baylor, Notre Dame, Maryland, Tennessee, Florida State, Oregon State, Louisville and Kentucky round out this week's top 10. Florida State moved up two spots from ninth.

The second 10 consists of Duke, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Iowa, Texas A&M, Princeton, North Carolina, Rutgers, Stanford and George Washington. Stanford dropped seven spots from 12th after losses at Arizona State and Arizona last week.

Chattanooga, Nebraska, Syracuse, Georgia and newcomer South Florida are the last five teams ranked. Texas, which was 20th, dropped out after losses last week to Kansas State and Baylor extended its skid to three straight games.
