Captain Ryan Getzlaf scored 45 seconds into overtime, Corey Perry scored two goals, and the Anaheim Ducks rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period for a 5-4 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

Perry tied it with 4:08 left in regulation for the Ducks, who stayed even with Nashville atop the overall NHL standings with a thrilling late rally.

Devante Smith-Pelly redirected Jakob Silfverberg's shot midway through the third period before Perry scored from a scrum in front of Anton Khudobin's net. Getzlaf then ended it with a rebound goal in OT, capping his three-point night.

Brad Malone scored on a third-period penalty shot and Jordan Staal added a late goal for the Hurricanes, who have lost three straight.
