Fred Hill's outburst during a baseball game may have been the final straw as the Rutgers men's basketball coach and the school will part ways.

According to sources, the school is expected to make an announcement to sever ties with Hill on Thursday.

Hill was at the baseball game last Thursday to support his father, Fred Hill Sr., the long-time baseball coach at the school.

Reportedly, Hill got into a profanity-laced tirade with Pittsburgh baseball coach Joe Jordano and the staff.

The school has been looking into trying to fire Hill with cause, which would allow them to avoid paying a $1.8 million buyout.

Rutgers was 14-17 this past season and hasn't made the NCAA tournament in any of Hill's four seasons at the helm.

He was 47-77 in his four seasons and had 11 players transfer out of the program in his tenure. The Scarlet Knights top player, guard Mike Rosario, has asked for his release.
