Kansas City, MO – The Kansas City Royals announced Monday that they have requested unconditional release waivers on infielder Elliot Johnson.
The 29-year-old Johnson hit .179 with two homers and nine RBI in 79 games for the Royals this season.
Johnson is a career .212 hitter with 12 homers and 59 RBI over four seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays and Royals.
