Winston-Salem, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Czech slugger Lukas Rosol and Jerzy Janowicz of Poland will meet in the final of the Winston-Salem Open, the last tuneup for the U.S. Open.
Rosol, seeded No. 7, outlasted ninth-seeded Yen-Hsun Lu 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 in just over two hours in the day's first semifinal on the hardcourts at Wake Forest University.
Later, Janowicz rallied to beat American crowd favorite Sam Querrey in three sets after trailing 4-6, 4-5, setting up Saturday's meeting with Rosol.
Janowicz survived 18 aces by Querrey and saved 16 of the 20 break points he faced in the 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory.
Janowicz, 23, won the only other meeting with Rosol, beating him in straight sets last year in Marseille. He is 0-1 in ATP finals, losing his only title match to David Ferrer in Paris in 2012.
Rosol, 29, was scheduled to face No. 1 seed John Isner in the quarterfinals on Thursday but Isner pulled out due to an ankle injury. Rosol will play in his fourth career ATP final -- third this season -- and is seeking a second title after last year's win in Bucharest.
Saturday's winner will claim $80,280.
