Rose Namajunas has been asking to fight "The Karate Hottie" Michelle Waterson and the UFC has granted her wish.
Namajunas will meet Waterson at FOX UFC Fight Night on April 15 as part of four new bouts confirmed for the upcoming card headed to Kansas City, Missouri.
Following Waterson's blistering fast finish over Paige VantZant last December, Namajunas immediately targeted her as the opponent she wanted to face next.
Waterson is currently 2-0 in the UFC and has been rated as one of the top rising stars in the women's strawweight division.
The fight will get Namajunas the chance to bounce back from a razor close split-decision loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz in her last fight as she continues to climb back up the rankings towards title contention.
In addition to the showdown between Namajunas and Waterson, three more fights were announced for the upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night card in Kansas City.
Recent "Ultimate Fighter" winner Tim Elliott will make his return to action against fellow top 15 flyweight Louis Smolka.
Light heavyweights Devin Clark and Jake Collier will also meet on the card as well as a middleweight bout between Anthony Smith and former "Ultimate Fighter" champion Andrew Sanchez.
More fights will be announced in the coming days for FOX UFC Fight Night in Kansas City on April 15.
