Nkemdiche appears set to return for Ole Miss. Spruce Derden USA TODAY Sports

Ole Miss got some good news Thursday night as star defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche has reportedly been cleared to return to against Texas A&M this weekend.

Nkemdiche was taken out of the game after suffering a concussion in the first half of last week's loss to Memphis and did not return to the game. According to Ole Miss defensive coordinator Dave Wommack, Nkemdiche should be good to return to the field Saturday.

Despite primarily playing defense, Nkemdiche was injured while rushing the ball in an attempt to convert a short yardage situation for the Rebels. The defensive tackle has asked head coach Hugh Freeze not to remove him from the offensive gameplan, despite his injury.

The junior lineman has 17 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks and four quarterback hurries through the first seven games of the season.
