Fort Myers, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox signed pitcher Francisco Cordero to a minor league contract on Sunday.

Cordero, 38, sat out the entire 2013 season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder in early April.

He had split the 2012 season with Houston and Toronto, combining to go 3-8 with a 7.55 earned run average over 47 games.

Over 14 seasons in the majors, he has 329 saves and a 47-53 record with a 3.38 ERA. In addition to Houston and Toronto, he has also pitched for Detroit, Texas, Milwaukee and Cincinnati.
