Madrid, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Real Madrid has won the race to sign teenage sensation Martin Odegaard, the La Liga club confirmed Thursday.
The 16-year-old was courted by many of Europe's top clubs but has joined the reigning European champions from Norwegian side Stromsgodset for a reported fee of approximately $4.5 million.
Odegaard scored five goals in 23 games for Stromsgodset last year to help the club finish fourth in the Tippeligaen.
