Rangers hand Ducks 4th straight loss
New York, NY – Erik Christensen and Marian Gaborik scored on 1 on Thursday night.
Jeff Woywitka scored his first goal as a member of the Rangers, giving them a 1-0 lead in the first period, while Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves in the victory.
With New York holding a 2-1 lead in the shootout, Lundqvist stoned Bobby Ryan in the final round to get his first win in four starts (1-2-1). Gaborik was credited with the game-winner on a deke to his backhand as New York's third skater.
The Rangers improved to 2-1-1 on a six-game homestand, while the Ducks fell to 1-4-3 since opening the season with four wins in their first five games.
Ryan had the only goal for Anaheim, tying the game in the second period, and Jonas Hiller finished with 24 saves.
