Heading into Game 3 of the ALDS between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers, Josh Hamilton was riding an 0-for-30 hitless streak in playoff games.
That streak was good (or bad?) for third all time in postseason play:
After grounding out in the second inning, Hamilton's hitless streak reached 31 at-bats, tied for second all time behind Seattle's Dan Wilson, who was hitless for 42 at-bats from 1995 to 2000.
Hamilton's streak was finally snapped in the fifth inning with a single:
He added another single in the seventh inning, finishing his night 2 for 3, but Texas lost Game 3 of the ALDS 5-1, yet still lead the series 2-1. Meanwhile, Hamilton has hits in his last two at-bats. Could this be the start of a new streak?
One can only hope.
