Al Harris, who played with four teams in a year NFL career, says he is retiring.

Harris, 37, wants to make a quick transition to coaching, according to the St. Louis Rams' Twitter account.

The Rams placed Harris on injured reserve last month after he tore his ACL in a Week 10 win over the Cleveland Browns. He was signed in the offseason and had 15 tackles in nine games for St. Louis.

Harris, who spent most of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, said his injury was "God's way of telling me it's time for me to turn the page," the Rams tweeted.

In 194 games, Harris finished with 362 tackles and 21 interceptions, including three that were returned for touchdowns.

On January 4, 2004, he returned an interception 52 yards for a game-winning touchdown in overtime to lift the Packers to a wild card win over the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs.

The pick came after then-Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck famously said after winning the coin toss: "We want the ball, and we're going to score."
