Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - PSG wasted another opportunity to collect three points on Sunday as the club gave up a goal six minutes from time to Samuel Umtiti, earning Lyon a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes.
Edinson Cavani had the hosts in front after 20 minutes, but a number of wasted chances kept Lyon within a goal, and the visitors took advantage in the 84th minute to hand the defending champions their fourth draw in six games.
Yohan Cabaye squandered a good chance for PSG in the 14th minute, but the hosts grabbed the initiative six minutes later as Lucas Digne got down the left wing and delivered a cross that allowed Cavani to run under it and nod it past goalkeeper Anthony Lopes with a diving effort.
Lyon had a good opportunity of its own in the 30th when a free kick from Arnold Mvuemba crashed against the crossbar, while Cavani should have scored shortly before the break but he fired over with the goal at his mercy.
A shot from Thiago Motta in the second half was spilled by Lopes, but he did well to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the rebound, keeping Lyon within a goal.
With six minutes to play, PSG failed to clear a corner kick, and after the ball bounced around the area, a deflected shot from Umtiti found its way into the net.
