Paris, France – PSG has agreed to a deal Wednesday with Sao Paulo to sign Brazilian international midfielder Lucas Moura in January.
Lucas Moura, 19, has already been capped 15 times for Brazil. He will make the switch on a transfer fee reported to be near $40 million, although no official amount was released.
The midfielder has agreed to a four-and a half year deal with PSG, which inked Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi, and Thiago Silva previously this summer. PSG has spent well over $200 million on transfers in just over one year.
"Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paulo FC have reached ... an agreement for the definitive transfer of (Lucas Moura)," read a statement on PSG's website. "By signing a young talent of the quality of (Lucas Moura), Paris Saint-Germain is already preparing the future."
Lucas Moura is currently playing with the Brazilian Under-23 Olympic team, and will play in the Gold Medal game against Mexico on Saturday. He will return to Sao Paulo for the rest of the Brazilian club season before joining PSG.
