Paul Postma's first goal of the season at 9:16 of the third period was the winner in the Winnipeg Jets' 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

Anthony Peluso controlled the puck in the Flames end before dropping it back to Postma at the blue line. The defenseman, who played junior hockey in Calgary, fired a hard slap shot that beat Karri Ramo.

Michael Frolik, Evander Kane, Carl Klingberg, also scored, and Blake Wheeler added an empty-net goal for Winnipeg (37-35-10).

It was the final game of the season for the Jets, who failed to make the playoffs for the seventh straight season — dating to the team's days in Atlanta.

Jiri Hudler, Sean Monahan and Kris Russell scored for Calgary, which had its four-game winning streak snapped.
