Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Oribe Peralta scored a second-half double on Saturday, leading America to a 5-0 drubbing of Jaguares at the Estadio Azteca.

Coming off a rather drab 2-2 draw against Morelia away from home last time out, the home side opened the scoring after just five minutes through Osvaldo Martinez and Miguel Samudio doubled the lead just past the half-hour mark.

Dario Benedetto made it 3-0 four minutes prior to the halftime interval and Peralta got into the scoring mood in the second half, sealing all three points with goals in the 54th and 72nd minutes.

The victory moved America up to third place with 11 points from their first six matches, while Jaguares remains in 12th place with eight points from six matches.

Elsewhere in Liga MX on Saturday, Luis Rey converted a 48th-minute penalty and Matias Alustiza added a second goal two minutes later as Puebla rolled to a 2-0 win over Monterrey, while Jesus Alberto Duenas netted in the 65th minute to lift Tigres to a 1-0 win over Morelia.

Miguel Sabah and Juan Ignacio Gonzalez Ibarra found the back of the net to lift Leon to a 2-1 win over Leones Negros, while Pachuca claimed a 3-1 win over Atlas.

On Sunday, Toluca and Santos played to an entertaining 2-2 draw, while Guadalajara and Veracruz played to a scoreless stalemate.

Friday's action saw Tijuana claimed a 3-0 win over Pumas, while Cruz Azul earned a 2-1 win over Queretato to remain atop the table with 14 points from six matches played.
