Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Thomas Greiss stopped 30 shots to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.
Pascal Dupuis had both goals for the Penguins, who were coming off a 5-0 loss to the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
Cody Franson had the lone goal of the game for the Maple Leafs, who had a three-game winning streak stopped. Jonathan Bernier allowed both goals on 41 shots.
"We weren't able to score on the power play or execute as crisp as we had been," said Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle. "We were handling the puck way too long tonight."
The game stayed scoreless until late in the second period when a slap shot from Christian Ehrhoff at the right point was redirected in by Dupuis, who was parked in front of the net with 2:42 left.
Just 15 seconds into the third period, it was Dupuis again as Sidney Crosby fed a pass from the left boards to the front where Dupuis one-timed it home for his sixth of the year.
"He makes it easy for everybody," said Dupuis about Crosby. "He's the best in the game. You just gotta find spots to get open."
Toronto got one back six minutes later as a quick shot from the right point by Franson beat Greiss high to the blocker side.
Despite throwing a total of 14 shots on net in the third, the Leafs were only able to get one past Greiss.

Toronto plays in Buffalo on Saturday ... Pittsburgh hosts the Rangers on Saturday ... Pittsburgh had taken a 5-2 win in Toronto on Oct. 11, and has won four straight in the series.
