Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has taken an injection to treat an unspecified lower-body injury, the team announced Friday.

Crosby suffered the injury on Jan. 10 against Montreal. The two-time MVP will miss this weekend's All-Star Game.

He is expected to resume skating on Tuesday and could return to the lineup either Wednesday at Washington or Friday at New Jersey.

Crosby has 15 goals and 36 assists in 43 games this season.
