Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Green Bay Packers released linebacker Brad Jones Friday after a six-year tenure with the team.

The move will clear $3.75 million in salary cap space for 2015. Jones, who signed a three-year, $11.25 million contract with Green Bay in March of 2013, lost his starting job this past season.

After starting 22 regular-season games between the 2012 and 2013 campaigns, Jones managed just 18 tackles over 13 contests while being used mainly on special teams last season.

The 2009 seventh-round draft choice started 36-of-76 games, as well as five postseason tilts, over his six seasons with the Packers.
