New York, NY – Baltimore Orioles minor league catcher Brian Ward has been suspended 50 games for a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension, announced Wednesday by the office of Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, is effective immediately.
Ward is currently on the roster of the team's Single-A Aberdeen IronBirds.
