BROOKINGS, S.D. – Keith Benson scored a season-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to pace Oakland, Mich., to a 97-88 victory over South Dakota State on Thursday night.
Benson also blocked three shots to set the Summit League record with 320 for his career.
Drew Valentine's double-double of 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds helped the Golden Grizzlies (13-8, 8-0), who have a season-high six-game winning streak and a 16-game Summit League streak.
Reggie Hamilton had 18 points and nine assists, Travis Bader had five 3-pointers among his 17 points and Will Hudson added 16 points.
Clint Sargent and Jordan Dykstra scored 18 points apiece for the Jackrabbits (12-7, 4-4), who lost their second in a row. Nate Wolters added 16 and Tony Fiegen 15.
Oakland, which never trailed, led 54-44 at intermission. The Jackrabbits got within eight three times in the last 4 minutes.
