BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) Courtney Range scored a career-high 29 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and knocked down a jumper with 28 seconds left in the second overtime to help No. 21 California beat No. 19 UCLA 108-104 on Monday night in a rare nonconference battle between the two Pac-12 schools.

The Golden Bears (8-2) used just seven players to pick up their first win over a Top 25 team since a November victory over then-No. 8 Louisville. It was their first win over a Top 25 team at home since beating Arizona State on February 16, 2014.

The win was Cal's eight straight over the Bruins.

Cal got off to a fast start and built a 42-29 lead at the break but UCLA rallied in the third quarter, with Jordin Canada drilling a 3-pointer with a second left to cut the Golden Bears lead to 58-56 heading into the fourth.

Cal maintained its lead throughout the fourth quarter until Canada hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game for the first time since the 8:52 mark of the first quarter.

Canada hit the second of two free throws with 40 seconds left in the first overtime to give UCLA a 94-93 lead. Asha Thomas hit a trey with 10 seconds left to put Cal in front by two, but Monique Billings made a layup with four seconds left to tie it at 96.

Billings gave the Bruins their only lead of the second overtime, 104-103 on a layup with 48 seconds left. But Range answered to put Cal back in front for good. Thomas hit a pair of free throws and MaAne Mosley added a free throw with a second left to create the final margin.

Range was 12 of 22 from the field and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Cal. Kristine Anigwe added 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds before fouling out while Penina Davidson and Thomas added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

California shot 53.2 percent (41 of 77) while UCLA struggled from the field, connecting on 42 of 106 shots (39.6 percent).

Canada made just 9 of 28 from the field and hit 8 of 11 from the line to finish with a season-high 28 points for the Bruins (7-3). Nirra Fields adding 22 points for the fourth consecutive game and Billings finished with 21. Kacy Swain tied her career high with 14 rebounds.

UCLA hosts Cal on Jan. 22, 2016 in their only conference matchup.
