Charlotte, NC – Cam Newton threw for 134 yards in his 10 preseason victory over the Giants.
The three players are battling for starting quarterback duties and Newton, the top overall pick in this year's draft, played the second and third quarters, and a series during the fourth in his professional debut. He completed only 8- of-19 passes but helped the Panthers drive for two field goals.
Clausen, a second-round pick in the 2010 draft and Carolina's primary quarterback last season, opened the game for the Panthers.
He had an interception returned for a 56-yard touchdown by Michael Boley on the first series, but rebounded to throw an 18-yard scoring strike to Greg Olsen later in the quarter. Clausen finished 4-for-7 for 69 yards.
The veteran Anderson, signed earlier this month, completed 3-of-4 passes for 71 yards during the fourth quarter.
