Nancy ends PSG's 12-match unbeaten streak
Paris, France – Jean Calve scored early in the second half to match unbeaten streak on Sunday with a 0 win at the Parc des Princes.
PSG lost its season opener at home to Lorient, 1-0, but reeled off six wins in a row at home during its long unbeaten span in Ligue 1. PSG maintained the top spot, but only on goal differential over Montpellier.
Montpellier edged Marseille on Saturday to pull even on 30 points, but PSG was suppose to reclaim its three-point cushion against 19th-place Nancy.
But Calve's first goal of the season, 4 minutes after halftime, was enough for Nancy to secure its third win in its last four after starting the season on an 11-game winless streak.
Nancy climbed out of the bottom three to 16th, one point above the drop zone.
Brest 2, Sochaux 0
Brest, France - Bruno Grougi's penalty following the sending off of Mathieu Peybernes sparked Brest to a 2-0 victory over Sochaux on Sunday at the Stade Francis-Le Ble in France's Ligue 1.
Grougi converted the penalty in the 67th after Mathieu Peybernes was sent off, and Romain Poyet scored the clincher in the 81st, giving Brest its second win in its last three after starting the season without a win in 11 matches.
Brest, which has just three losses, climbed to 13th in the table on 15 points. Sochaux had a three-game unbeaten streak snapped and sits 11th on 17 points.
Valenciennes 2, Auxerre 1
Valenciennes, France - Isimat Mirin and Mamadou Samassa scored in the second half and Valenciennes downed Auxerre, 2-1, on Sunday at the Stade Nungesser in France's Ligue 1.
Alain Traore put Auxerre in front after 34 minutes, but Mirin tied the game in the 58th, setting up Samassa's match-winner in the 79th.
Valenciennes won for the second time in its last five and has just one loss in that span, as it climbed three points above the relegation zone. Auxerre lost for the fourth time in its last five and slipped to 14th.
