Tennessee gained 519 yards of offense on the Georgia defense, much of which came after initial contact. Missed tackles played a large role in sparking the Volunteer offense to the 38-31 comeback.
Monday is film review day for the Bulldogs. What the defense was forced to watch certainly wasn't pretty.
"Every week (defensive coordinator Jeremy) Pruitt will come in on Monday and he says, 'it's gonna be about what we did, not necessarily what the other team did.' It was so true," linebacker Jake Ganus said. "We come in. You watch the film against Tennessee and it's just sickening because of all the missed tackles and all the missed assignments.
"You know we are better than that and we can do better than that. So I think just the focus this week is cleaning up those little things. Then again when we do tackle and we do do the right things, we're a good defense."
Expect the defensive effort to improve this week against a struggling Missouri offense quarterbacked by true freshman Drew Lock. The Tigers only managed a dozen first downs and three points at home last week. If Georgia's tackling doesn't improve against Missouri, Monday's film session will be even tougher to swallow.
