Minnesota, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota All-American tight end Maxx Williams declared for the 2015 NFL Draft on Friday, one day after the Golden Gophers concluded their season in the Citrus Bowl.

Williams, a redshirt sophomore, was named a 2014 Mackey Award finalist and led the Golden Gophers with 36 receptions, 569 receiving yards and eight touchdown catches this past season.

The 20-year-old finished his college career with a strong performance in the Citrus Bowl, catching seven passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in Minnesota's 33-17 loss to Missouri.

Williams recorded 61 catches totaling 986 yards and 13 touchdowns over 25 career games with the Gophers.
