SAN JOSE, Calif. – Martin Jones was the main reason the San Jose Sharks were able to extend the Stanley Cup Finals to six games.
The third-year goalie kept it close in Game 6 on Sunday night, too, though he never got the help needed to send the series back to Pittsburgh.
The Sharks' first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals ended with a 3-1 loss to the Penguins.
Jones made 24 saves, while his teammates mustered 19 shots on Matthew Murray.
The Sharks once again fell behind early, giving up a power-play goal, and never recovered. Jones was left to fend for himself.
