Jordan Ayew scored early in the second half and Marseille edged Nancy, 1-0, on Sunday at the Stade Marcel Picot to remain perfect through five matches in Ligue 1.

Marseille is the lone team to win its first five matches this season in France and sits atop the standings on 15 points, two clear of second-place Lyon.

Steve Mandanda made just one save to post his fourth shutout in five games, as Marseille continued its incredible defensive start. Marseille has allowed just one goal through its first five matches.

Ayew scored the lone goal off a cross from Andre Ayew, as Jordan deposited the ball from the middle of the area into the bottom-right corner.

Nancy lost its third straight since opening with a win and a draw, and dropped 11 points off the top.

Lyon 2, Ajaccio 0

Lyon, France - Dejan Lovren and Lisandro Lopez scored in each half as Lyon won for the fourth time in five matches, 2-0, over Ajaccio on Sunday at the Stade de Gerland to remain unbeaten in Ligue 1.

Lovren opened the scoring in the 25th minute and Lopez clinched the win with a goal 15 minutes from time as Lyon remained perfect in three home matches. Lyon is just two points off the pace of five-win Marseille in second place.

Ajaccio lost for the second time in its last three games, and was shut out for the third time in its last four matches.

Lorient 2, Rennes 1

Lorient, France - Alain Traore scored twice in the first half and nine-man Lorient downed Rennes, 2-1, on Sunday at the Stade de la Route de Lorient to remain unbeaten in Ligue 1.

Traore, who has four goals this season, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and added his second two minutes before half. Lorient had Maxine Baca sent off in the 32nd and Fabien Audard in the 54th, but held on for its third win.

Jonathan Pitroipa scored in the 71st for Rennes, which ended with 10 men after Cheick Diarra was sent off 11 minutes from time. Rennes lost for the fourth time against just one win in five matches.
