DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) Garrett Clay ran for two touchdowns and the Marist defense forced three turnovers in a 31-10 victory over Davidson on Saturday.

Clay finished with 54 yards on 11 carries. Michael White was 24 of 45 for 271 with a touchdown and an interception.

Davidson (1-6, 0-4 Pioneer) raced to a 10-0 lead behind Trevor Smith's field goal and a 92-yard catch-and-run from Taylor Mitchell to William Morris.

It was all Marist (3-4, 2-2) after that. A bad punt gave Marist the ball at the Davidson 20, and two plays later White found Juston Christian on an 8-yard touchdown pass.

In the third quarter, Mitchell fumbled, giving Marist a short field again and Marcellus Calhoun ran 14 yards for a TD. On the ensuing possession, John Cook relieved Mitchell and his first pass was picked off. On the next play, Clay's 12-yard scamper made it 24-10. Clay added a 5-yard touchdown run in the fourth.
