TORONTO (Reuters) - The Toronto Maple Leafs have resigned free agent James Reimer for another three years, the team said on Thursday.
Reimer, 23, made his first NHL start in January and quickly established himself as the Leafs' starting goaltender.
"He earned the opportunity to play at the NHL level this past season and he made the most of it with his outstanding play," Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke said in a statement.
Reimer finished the season with a 20-10-5 record, a 2.60 goals against average and three shutouts, and represented Canada at this year's world championships.
