Allen Park, MI – The Detroit Lions signed unrestricted free agent safety Aaron Francisco on Wednesday.
Francisco, 28, has played six NFL seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts with 218 tackles and four interceptions in 75 games.
He started all 12 games he played for the Colts last season, his second with the team, and had a career-high 59 tackles with two interceptions.
The Lions also released guard Jeff Maddux and cornerback Maurice Leggett from injured reserve and waived injured safety Randy Phillips.
