Lichtsteiner pens new Juve deal

Turin, Italy ( - Juventus has secured the services of defender Stephan Lichtsteiner for the next two years after the club agreed to a new contract with the Switzerland international.

Lichtsteiner's previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current season, but the 30-year-old is now tied to the Italian champions until 2017, with the new deal including an option for a third year.

Since arriving at Juve from Lazio in 2011, Lichtsteiner has appeared in 134 games for the Old Lady, scoring 11 goals.

Of Juve's 18 Serie A fixtures this season, Lichtsteiner has started 14 and made three other appearances as a substitute, contributing two goals and four assists.

Lichtsteiner has earned 60 caps for Switzerland in his international career while playing in two World Cups and Euro 2008.
